INSTITUT FÜR MOLEKULARE INFEKTIONSBIOLOGIE
INSTITUTE FOR MOLECULAR INFECTION BIOLOGY
Chair: Professor Dr. Jörg Vogel
The Institute for Molecular Infection Biology was founded in 1993 as an interdisciplinary institution
at the Medical Faculty of the University of Würzburg. The members of the institute present biological
problems of infectious diseases in lectures, seminars and practical courses in particular to the
students of the biology department, but also to a certain extent to medical and dental students.
As the education of graduate students is thereby one of the main focuses, the Institute for Molecular
Infectious Biology has been involved in planning and establishing an International Graduate School
at the University of Würzburg.
The Research groups at the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology study several molecular aspects
of infections that are caused by bacteria, parasites and fungi.
